Art Lisker maintains a dynamic career as a full-time teacher, pianist, and is the Founder and Executive Director of the Lisker Music Foundation, a non-profit organization which enriches the cultural scene throughout the Chicago-land through its critically acclaimed concert series, outreach programs, and scholarships.

Art obtained his Master of Music Degree in 1986 from the renowned Glinka Conservatory of Music in Russia and since arriving in Chicago in 1990, has consistently maintained a private studio of over 30 students passing on the rich Russian piano school traditions made famous by Arthur Rubinstein, Vladimir Horowitz, Sviataslov Richter, Evgeny Kissin, Emil Gilels, and many others.  In addition to his focus on classical music, he is also an accomplished Jazz musician having been principal pianist at Bloomingdale’s on Michigan Avenue for 6 years, as well as Northbrook Court for 4 years.  Combining the heritage instilled by previous generations, with the innovative teaching techniques developed in modern times, Art has a unique ability to guide students of any age, level, and musical style in a way that maximizes their individual potential.
